Hockey already! The blurry player in the front is my grand daughter, Sarah. They won this game-the second in the tournament and had tied the first game. Haven't heard how they finished.Labels: Family
The sock is the Knitters Brewing Company Knit Along on Ravelry. Pattern is free at this time and is called, With a Twist from the Knitters Brewing Company. Because I wanted to start immediately, the yarn is from my stash and is from www.yarn4socks.com and is hand-dyed yarn from A Piece of Vermont; fiber is 60% merino, 30% bamboo and 10% nylon. Knitters Brewing Company is a fun web site-www.knittersbrewing.com. The emphasis is on sock knitting and patterns and yarns are named for beverages. Their service is terrific. I ordered 2 skeins of yarn, it was shipped that same day and arrived 2 days later. Each skein was individually gift wrapped and I received a hand written thank you note in the package!
This is Braided Top by Marianne Isager, made from her yarn, cotton and linen. I am teaching this class and started doing it without having knit the pattern myself because the store already had a sample. All the time I could save! But, preparing for the class, the construction of the top was so intriquing, I started this at the first class. It was a fun knit.
Rylea is fine and was able to go home with her mommy. We think she's beautiful and her cousin was in awe of her. Yes, that's the blanket I made for her.

Rylea Lea McDole arrived August 4 and 4:39 AM weighing in at 7 lbs 1 oz and measuring 19 3/4 inches.
Here she is-minutes old- with her daddy. She is so alert and looks at whoever is talking to her. I stood behind Arron and talked to her and she looked towards me. Alas, a few hours after her birth she was transferred to Level II newborn nursery as her respirations slowed down and she started to turn blue. They also wanted to follow up on her abdomen as it appeared distended and ripply. The x-rays showed air in the intestines so that is not a problem. The breathing issue is still unsolved, so when all else fails, she's on antibiotics assuming it's an infection. But this grandma's arms are aching to hold her! Kristin (her mommy) will probably go home tomorrow-Thursday- but doesn't know if Rylea will be going with her.
