Pattern: Argosy from Knitty.com Winter 06.

Yarn: Noro Sock Yarn. The colors are beautiful, but I hated working every stitch with this yarn. The wool is scratchy, full of foreign material. It is spun unevenly from huge clumps to finely, too tightly spun which twists back on itself.
Needles: Size 4.

Kiki's Hats

This is a delightful book about a woman named Kiki who knits hats and gives them away. It shows how giving can benefit the giver and the receiver. It is written and illustrated by Warren Hanson, who also illustrated the Cup of Christmas Tea and the Peef books.

This afternoon, Warren Hanson was at Amazing Threads and told the story of the real life Kiki and read and autographed the book.

Finished at last! I started this after Arnhild's Knitting Camp- www.arnhild.com -in February and just blocked it this morning. Actually, the buttons still have to be sewn in. I love the style of this sweater because the curve of the cable makes me look like I have curves!

Needles: Size 13 and 15. Should have been a quick knit.

This is a fun book. These are the first two little socks Cat Bordhi suggests making first to learn the construction method. Her heel flaps and gussets are all shaped differently and in unusual places. Each step in the construction of the socks is illustrated for both two circular needles and double point needles. There are many new techniques with good descriptions and pictures so it isn't hard to understand how to do them. Charts are given for each sock construction (there are 8 of them)so you can make any size sock.

A is for Alpaca

Ravelry has an ABC-along which I have signed up to participate in. Every two weeks we are to post a picture depicting a letter of the alphabet related to knitting or not. This is my first post. A is for Alpaca.

I did post this picture before but to repeat: It is MN grown alpaca from an animal named Libby, pictured on the label. It will go into the Eris Cardigan.

Lost Earring

Boo Hoo! I got these lovely earrings and the first time I wore them, I lost one. Just reordered another pair so the other one will probably show up. Target is getting so tired of me calling them today I was "politely" told, "we have your contact information-we'll call you if it shows up."

I bought them off the internet at www.DesignsbyRomi.com and they are just beautiful. Right now they are back ordered.

Actually, it was a gray day, but did find this little bit of blue. Temperature reached 34 degrees.

Repair Job

This is a shop model of Lacy Shawl made of Nashua Grand Opera. I think the yarn company knit this sample. This challenge was presented to me a couple weeks ago but I'd completely forgotten about it. Today I tackled it.

This is the end result-not perfect by a long shot, but at least it's presentable. Actually, I thought it looked better, and was surprised at the picture, but at least it can be used without loose stitches unravelling.
