New Pathways for Sock Knitters

Cat Bordhi has outdone herself with her new book! We've been making socks with basically two styles-one with a heel flap and one with an inserted heel. In this book, Cat shows how the increasing triangle (gusset) can be placed in any position on the sock and has sock patterns and designs to demonstrate. She suggests that you make a little learning baby sock for each of the eight construction methods. From there, you can go on to full size socks from the many patterns in the book. She has good illustrations to demonstrate stitch placement, direction of knitting and stitches for both double point needles and two circulars. A whole chapter is master numbers for socks of all sizes and gauges and another chapter for different heels, toes and cuffs. She even has a different cast on which looks intriguing. I can hardly wait to dive into the little socks-but I have two sweaters I'm trying to power knit for classes for Amazing Threads.

If you need Christmas ideas I know a family that loves the socks but the kids' feet are growing but still trying to squeeze into the ones they have.

Love and hugs!!!!!
