Russian Shawl

This is the shawl I bought in a street market in St. Petersburg. They were available in most street markets, but this was larger and had a more intricate pattern. I was able to bargain the price from about $27 down to $24. This was a big day for me as I am not a bargainer. Not only did I do it, but I had to do it fast as the bus was being loaded.
It is made from the "wool from a goat" so is very soft and warm. I wore it the evening we went to the Russian Ballet and saw Swan Lake-an exquisite production!

Memorial Day

Today we remember those who served in our Armed Forces. This was a ceremony in Moscow as flowers are laid on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as they celebrated Victory Day on May 9.

St Olaf's Church in Tallinn, Estonia. It was a beautiful day-finally able to leave the fleece jacket at the hotel. This church used to have the highest steeple in Tallin until it was destroyed by fire.

Saturday Sky May 12

Another beautiful day, but cool. I wore my Grand Circle awful green color fleece the entire trip, and now can hardly look at it, but it kept me warm. This is the Church of Transfiguration of Our Savior built in 1714 without nails on the island of Kizhi in Lake Onega, Russia.

Saturday Sky May 5

At this moment it was partly cloudy/sunny in Moscow, Russia overlooking the Kremlin. I'm back from a wonderful trip to Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, and Finland, but won't bore you with too many pictures. (If you want to see more, check my other blog, http://PhotoEveryDay2007.blogspot.com ) As I get my pictures downloaded and edited, I will post Saturday Sky pictures, but will get back to knitting.
